"Oceanic Jewels" Silk-Wrapped Bracelet
“My soul is full of longing
for the secret of the sea,
and the heart of the great ocean
sends a thrilling pulse through me.”
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Part of my new addition of upcycled wearable art, this beautiful bracelet is made of upcycled saree silk, slow stitched with vintage sewing thread, wrapped in a brassy copper wire with micro czech glass seed beads, and dangled with charms created from a combination of my old stash and found/repurposed beads. Inspired by the ocean, the bracelet is wrapped with silk in cool tones (purples, blues, greens and some browns), and the charms include a carved stone in the shape of an ammonite, aqua-terra jasper beads, a beautiful piece of an abalone shell, a tear drop bead with an ombre deep-to-light blue, and an oddly shaped pearl in green, gold and purple tones.
